What to cook with the ingredients you already have at home.

That moment when you open the fridge, see eggs, rice and half a carrot, and your mind goes blank. We built a free tool for exactly that: type what you have, get recipes you can actually cook — including a brand-new one written on the spot from your ingredients.

Simple ingredients on a kitchen counter next to a phone showing a recipe
How it works

Four steps, no sign-up.

🧺

1. List what you have

Type the ingredients sitting in your fridge and pantry — rice, eggs, carrots, chicken, pasta. Each one becomes a chip you can remove with a tap.

🎛️

2. Set the filters

Pick how much time you have (15, 30 or 45 minutes), the meal (lunch, dinner, snack), dietary needs (dairy-free, gluten-free, vegetarian) and whether it has to please the kids.

🍲

3. See matching recipes

The tool matches your list against momsnet recipes, showing first the ones you can already cook and highlighting what's missing in the rest.

4. Generate a brand-new recipe

If nothing fits, the generator writes a fresh recipe using only your ingredients, with step-by-step instructions.

🍽️ When to use it

Moments it saves dinner.

🕕

6pm on a Tuesday and the fridge looks empty

Three ingredients are enough to start. Eggs, rice and a carrot already unlock quick dinner options.

💸

End of the month, no grocery run

Instead of heading to the store, use what's already open in the fridge and cut down on waste.

🥦

Leftover veg from the week

Soft broccoli, half a zucchini, an overripe tomato: the tool finds dishes that use leftovers.

🧒

A picky eater at the table

With the kid-approved filter on, the list prioritises simple recipes with mild flavours and familiar textures.

Tips

How to get the best results.

  • Start with the main ingredients (protein and carb) — basics like salt, oil and garlic are already assumed to be in your kitchen.
  • Write items singular and without amounts: 'carrot', not '2 medium carrots'.
  • If a recipe is missing just one item, it's still worth a look — the list tells you exactly what to buy.
  • Be honest with the time filter: 15 minutes on a hectic day beats abandoning a recipe halfway.
  • Found something good? Select it and generate a shopping list for next week.
FAQ

Common questions.

Is the tool free?

Yes. No account and no payment needed to type your ingredients and see matching recipes.

How many ingredients do I need?

Suggestions start showing with two or three. The more you add, the more accurate the match.

Does it handle dietary restrictions?

Yes — there are vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free filters. Generated recipes respect the selected restriction, but always check the labels of the products you use.

Are the recipes suitable for young children?

There's a kid-approved filter. For babies and children with allergies, adapt seasoning and textures and follow your paediatrician's guidance.
